About NewzNow

NewzNow is an Assam-based digital news publication reporting on Assam, Northeast India and stories that matter beyond the region.

We believe good journalism begins with a simple principle: find out what actually happened, verify it, and tell the reader clearly.

NewzNow covers breaking news, politics, governance, public affairs, business, society, technology, science, culture, sports and other issues of public interest.

Our newsroom places particular emphasis on Assam and the Northeast, while also covering important national and international developments that affect or interest our readers.

Our Journalism

NewzNow aims to go beyond simply repeating information already available elsewhere.

Where possible, our journalists seek original information through:

  • On-ground reporting
  • Direct interviews
  • Official documents and records
  • Statements from relevant authorities
  • Primary sources
  • Photographs and video
  • Independent verification of claims circulating online

We distinguish between verified facts, allegations, claims and opinions and try to make that distinction clear to readers.

Independence and Fairness

NewzNow is committed to reporting in the public interest without giving preferential treatment to political parties, governments, organisations, businesses or individuals.

We may ask difficult questions of people in positions of power. At the same time, we believe that criticism must be based on facts, evidence and responsible journalism.

When a person or organisation is accused of wrongdoing, we seek their response wherever reasonably possible.

Original Reporting

One of NewzNow’s priorities is to develop strong original reporting from Assam and Northeast India.

Our reporters may travel to locations, speak to people directly and independently examine claims rather than relying exclusively on social-media posts or secondary reports.

Technology and Journalism

NewzNow uses modern digital tools, including artificial intelligence, wherever they can improve newsroom efficiency, research, translation, transcription, presentation or production.

Technology does not replace editorial responsibility.

Published journalism remains subject to human editorial review, verification and accountability.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple:

To make NewzNow a trusted source of timely, factual and meaningful journalism from Assam and Northeast India.
