NewzNow Editorial Policy
NewzNow is committed to accurate, responsible and independent digital journalism.
Our editorial decisions are guided by public interest, factual accuracy, fairness and transparency.
1. Accuracy
We make reasonable efforts to verify information before publication.
Where facts cannot immediately be independently confirmed, we try to make that limitation clear to readers.
2. Primary Sources
Whenever practical, we prefer primary sources such as:
- Government documents
- Court records
- Official statements
- Direct interviews
- Original documents
- First-hand observations
- Official data
Secondary reports may be used when appropriate and will be attributed.
3. Claims and Allegations
NewzNow distinguishes between an established fact and an allegation or claim.
We do not present an allegation as a proven fact.
Where an individual or organisation is accused of wrongdoing, we seek a response whenever reasonably possible.
4. Political Reporting
NewzNow does not operate as the publication arm of any political party.
Political leaders and governments may be criticised when warranted by facts and evidence. They may also be reported positively when their actions are newsworthy.
Our editorial position is determined by the story—not by political affiliation.
5. Corrections
If we publish a significant factual error, we will correct it as soon as reasonably possible.
Corrections may be clearly identified within the article where appropriate.
6. Anonymous Sources
Information from anonymous sources may be used when there is a legitimate public-interest reason to protect the source’s identity.
Anonymous claims are not automatically treated as established facts.
7. Photographs and Video
We aim to accurately identify the source and context of photographs and videos used in our reports.
Material circulating online may be independently verified before publication where possible.
8. User-Generated Content
Content submitted by readers, witnesses or other third parties may be published only after appropriate editorial consideration and verification.
9. Artificial Intelligence
NewzNow may use artificial intelligence and automated tools for tasks including research assistance, transcription, translation, summarisation, content organisation, image/video workflows and other newsroom functions.
AI-generated information is not treated as inherently reliable.
Editors and journalists remain responsible for verifying factual claims before publication.
10. Conflicts of Interest
NewzNow expects journalists and contributors to disclose relevant conflicts of interest to editors.
Commercial relationships should not determine editorial coverage.
11. Right of Reply
Where a report contains serious allegations against a person or organisation, NewzNow will make reasonable efforts to seek a response.
If a response is received after publication, it may be added to or reflected in the report.
12. Public Interest
NewzNow may publish material that is uncomfortable, critical or controversial when there is a legitimate public-interest justification.
Public interest does not mean public curiosity alone.
13. Editorial Responsibility
Every published report represents an editorial decision by NewzNow.
We welcome legitimate criticism and corrections from our readers.
