Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing an end to a 14-year career representing his country.
The 38-year-old had previously retired from ODI cricket in June 2025. His latest decision means he will no longer represent Australia in T20 Internationals.
Maxwell played seven Tests, 149 ODIs and 130 T20Is for Australia. He scored 3,990 runs in ODIs and 2,897 runs in T20Is, maintaining a strike rate of 154.42 in the shortest format.
He was part of Australia's ODI World Cup-winning teams in 2015 and 2023, as well as the T20 World Cup-winning squad in 2021. His unbeaten 201 against Afghanistan in the 2023 ODI World Cup remains one of the most remarkable innings in the tournament's history.
Maxwell will continue playing franchise cricket, including for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. He is also stepping away from Victoria's 50-over and four-day competitions, saying he wants to focus more on his fitness for the remaining tournaments of his career.
