New Delhi, November 5: Reports of drone strikes and firing by Pakistani forces emerged from Rawalakot in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, with three people reportedly killed and 18 others injured. The incident took place near Umar Farooq Chowk in Rawalakot.
According to the report, firing began around 5 am and continued in the area. Local residents alleged that Pakistani forces were launching drones at civilian homes and opening fire. They claimed that unarmed protesters and ordinary residents were being deliberately targeted.
Videos circulating on social media appeared to show several houses on fire. Some residents also displayed what they claimed were fragments of explosives recovered from the area. However, the report did not independently verify these videos or claims.
Government mobile networks and internet services were reportedly shut down in Rawalakot following the incident. The communication blackout has added to fear and uncertainty among residents. Despite the situation, people continued to take to the streets to express their protest.
Local residents further alleged that more than 153 people had been killed by Pakistani forces in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir since protests began in June 2026. This figure is a claim cited in the report and has not been independently verified.
