November 4: Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has reportedly received an extortion call from a person claiming to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who allegedly demanded crores of rupees. Police are examining the call recording and comparing the caller’s voice with samples available in their records.

According to the report, the caller claimed to have links with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. However, it has not yet been established whether the person is actually associated with the gang. Police are analysing the recording to identify the caller and verify the claim.

The development comes shortly after actor Tusshar Kapoor reportedly received a threatening audio message from a caller identifying himself as ‘Harry Boxer’. During the investigation, the Crime Branch’s technical team analysed the recording and compared it with official voice samples of Harry Boxer available in its database. However, the voices reportedly did not match, raising suspicion that someone may have been impersonating a gang member to threaten celebrities and extort money.

The reported threats come amid growing concerns over the safety of Bollywood celebrities. On October 18, a firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff took place in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Shroff was travelling in his car when the attack occurred. He escaped unhurt, but his driver and a passerby sustained injuries.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang subsequently claimed responsibility for the firing, according to the report. Police have named Anil Pandit, an aide of jailed gangster Bishnoi, as a wanted accused in the case. So far, 13 people, including the alleged shooters, have been arrested.

Investigators have also reportedly found that the shooters had conducted reconnaissance near the residences of several Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar.

Following these incidents, several celebrities and their security teams have reportedly increased precautionary measures. Actor Ronit Roy, who also runs a private security company, said there had been growing demand among celebrities for enhanced security arrangements. He described the measures as preventive.
