KOKRAJHAR: A Samajik Adhikarita Shivir was organised on Friday at the DC Office Parade Ground in Kajalgaon, Chirang, for the free distribution of aids and assistive devices to senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
The camp was held under the Government of India's Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana and Assistance to Persons with Disabilities scheme.
Assistive devices were distributed to 150 beneficiaries from the Sidli Legislative Assembly Constituency. The remaining identified beneficiaries will receive the devices in subsequent phases.
Lok Sabha MP Joyanta Basumatary, Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary, Sidli MLA Paniram Brahma, Chirang District Commissioner Gokul Chandra Brahma, ALIMCO Joint Manager (Marketing) Sanjiv Kumar Hajoary and Chirang District Social Welfare Officer Monika Kakoty Bharali attended the programme.
