DIMAKUCHI — Rohit Rabha, a teacher at Dimakuchi Shekhar Sankardev Mission Higher Secondary School, faced a call for immediate suspension on Tuesday over allegations that he took a female student and other students to a dhaba and behaved inappropriately with the student.
The video alleged that a birthday was celebrated at the dhaba, where a cake was cut, and alleged that Rabha kissed the student after the cake-cutting. The allegations have not been independently verified.
The video further claimed that concerns about Rabha had earlier been raised with the school principal. It alleged that the principal had asked him to maintain distance, but that he did not do so. It also claimed that Rabha regularly took girls in his vehicle.
The video urged Education Minister Ranoj Pegu to take prompt action against Rabha, arguing that such incidents could adversely affect students' futures. It warned of an agitation in the Dimakuchi area if Rabha was not removed from the school.
It was not clear from the video whether any formal complaint had been filed or whether the school or education department had taken action on the allegations.
