November 3: Ghanakanta Gogoi, the prime accused in the Hotel Bilas Inn shooting case in Guwahati, was sent to judicial custody by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court after completing seven days of police remand. Meanwhile, he may face another arrest in connection with a separate case registered in Sivasagar district. Reports suggest that he may be taken to Sivasagar on Tuesday night for further legal proceedings.

According to the report, Gogoi is allegedly linked to a case registered at Demow Police Station in 2024. He was accused of taking a TATA Hitachi excavator on rent but failing to pay the rental amount.

Separately, Sivasagar resident Jintu Chetia had accused Gogoi of taking two excavators on rent and allegedly selling them without his consent. One of the machines was reportedly recovered from Nagaland, while the other remains untraced. However, the latest legal status of the separate case and the reported plan to take Gogoi to Sivasagar have not been officially confirmed.
