Sadiya, November 3:
A severe storm late Monday night claimed one life and caused extensive damage in Sadiya, Upper Assam.
The deceased has been identified as Shankar Shah, a resident of Dhola. He reportedly died after a massive tree fell on him at Maruwari Patti during the storm.
The fallen tree also blocked National Highway 115, which connects Sadiya with Chapakhowa. Several vehicles remained stranded for hours, causing a major traffic disruption until Tuesday morning.
