A woman has levelled serious allegations of rape and sexual exploitation against Vrindavan-based religious narrator Dr Indradev Maharaj. A Zero FIR was registered against him at Kashimira Police Station in Mira-Bhayandar, Maharashtra, on October 28, 2026, following the woman's complaint. Bhumata Brigade founder-president Trupti Desai has demanded his immediate arrest and a thorough investigation.
According to the complainant, she approached Indradev Maharaj seeking help with her family problems and accepted him as her spiritual guru. She alleged that he subsequently obtained her phone number and began sending her personal messages.
In her account, the woman claimed that Maharaj told her he wanted to keep her close and take care of her children. She further alleged that he repeatedly asked her to make video calls and pressured her to remove her clothes during those calls.
The woman alleged that she was later called to Radha Kishori Sevadham Ashram in Vrindavan, where Maharaj allegedly summoned her to his room and sexually assaulted her against her will.
During the interview, she identified November 4, 2025, as the date of the alleged incident. She said she had been trying to seek justice for around eight months and had approached several authorities, including the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, the Women's Commission, an akhara and the Maharashtra Police Commissioner's office.
“My Lingam Is the Shivling”: Woman's Allegation
The complainant made another serious allegation during the interview, claiming that Maharaj presented himself as God and asked women to worship him.
She alleged that he told her, “My lingam is the Shivling; worship it.” She further claimed that he insisted that women should follow his instructions and described himself as a divine figure.
The woman also alleged that women were called into rooms at the ashram and subjected to inappropriate behaviour. These claims are part of her statement and have not been independently verified.
Trupti Desai Demands Arrest and Ashrams Sealed
Bhumata Brigade founder-president Trupti Desai said the woman approached her organisation after struggling to get her complaint registered.
Desai said her organisation contacted Kashimira Police Station and pressed for the complaint to be formally registered. A Zero FIR was subsequently registered on October 28, 2026.
Desai claimed that the case had been transferred to Vrindavan, but the accused had not yet been arrested. She demanded his immediate arrest and called for the sealing of his ashrams in Savkheda, Jalgaon district, Maharashtra, and Vrindavan.
She also claimed that evidence in the case included alleged obscene WhatsApp messages and recordings of 15–16 phone calls involving the complainant.
Claim of 2,000–3,000 Potential Victims
The complainant alleged that several other women and young girls may also have faced similar exploitation. During the interview, she estimated that the number could be between 2,000 and 3,000. However, this figure has not been independently verified, and no formal statements from other alleged victims were provided in the material.
Desai called for a thorough investigation into the allegations, particularly the claims that religious faith was allegedly used to exploit women.
There was no response from Indradev Maharaj or his representatives in the material provided. The allegations remain unproven, and the police investigation is expected to establish the facts.
